{Be Mine Valentine} Using the "Valentine" Cardstock Cut

Hi friends! Lacey here and it's the end of February already but I am still loving all the pink and hearts!!! I created another page using the "Valentine" Cardstock Cut from the shop! I love using cut files on my layouts as they make a statement and are fun to try different techniques with.

I left this Cardstock Cut white but decided to back it in a unique way using washi tape strips for a bold punch of color and pattern. I began the process by using a scrap of smooth white cardstock and layering the washi tape strips to cover it top to bottom.

Next, I used the paper to back the cut file with and used an exacto knife to cut the centers out. I didn't have matching paper for this set of washi tape so I improvised and used some other elements from my stash like vellum & cardstock hearts and I found the cutest little valentine conversation heart patches and sprinkled them in.

Lastly I layered it all up on one of the Gingham papers from the "Pastel Gingham" Collection Kit available in the shop. It's bright and playful and screams valentine!

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you in some way!
