{Off To The Races! } Using the “Gumballs & Swizzle Sticks” Limitless & Essentials Kits

 

Hey there my scrappy "happy" friends!  It's so great to chat with you all again! I'm excited to share this single page lay-out with you! It captures the photo of four little cousins playing on their tricycles and me, wishing I'd known more about the photo!

Below is the page I'll be designing for you in my latest You Tube video ...using the fun and colorful Gumballs & Swizzle Sticks kit! Here's the LINK for the kits!

I love to create ephemera from the cardstock in each kit, especially if it complements my story.  Here I cut the tricycle from a 12x12 piece of card stock that had vintage ads on it! I popped it up with some dimensionals and just love how it looks!

In the this photo I fussy cut the cars from the 12x12 card stock to create a landing place for my title "Off to the Races!" I cut a strip of the lined red cardstock to act as my "road" on the lay-out!

I love this little cluster I created.  My focus was to highlight the wording in the vintage ads, especially the one that had the cost of a tricycle!  It went perfectly with the lay-out theme! I popped the gumball machine up on dimensionals!

I wish I knew then, what I know now… That a simple photo, could make your heart feel so many different, heart felt, raw emotions …some 30 years later!

In this photo we were all down Mema’s for a weekend visit. Delicious southern cooking and lots of storytelling across the table.  An afternoon of four little cousins having the BEST of times, racing and playing follow the leader on their tricycles ….

… fast forward, to today; they’re all married, in their 30’s, and some with children of their own. I wish I knew then… to slow down more, cherish the little moments more, write the stories more…   

 And give myself, the gift of looking... back and knowing the story!
