{Game On} Using The "Virtual Reality" Page Kit

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing a new layout using the super cute "Virtual Reality" Page Kit & Add Ons.  My boys used to be BIG gamers a few years ago.  They still like to play, but with work, school and sports, they don't have as much time to anymore.  It was fun to document some photos I took of them a while back!!

I was immediately inspired by the stamp in the kit and knew right away that I wanted to create a stamped background with it.  In this kit, you have the option to choose between two different stamps and I chose the "Distress Diamonds" stamp.

I took a piece of thick white cardstock since I had plans to add quite a bit of mixed media to it and I wanted to minimize the warping.  I stamped out each image using some Distress Oxides from my stash and once I stamped the image out in one color, I took some clean water and a paint brush and spread out the color a bit.  I added in splatters and repeated the process for each color that I used.  I love how it turned out!  It's another fun way to use your stamps!

For my title, I used the "Game On" Acrylic piece in blue with the silver outline.  I arranged it around the "Video Game Circle Frame" Cardstock Cut that I had adhered in the center of my layout.  It was a perfect addition to my design and I arranged the rest of my page around it.

The Essentials Kit has the cutest game controller charms so I had to add a few of those on my layout.  I added some red thread through each one and made a few cute loops with it.

I matted my photos using a few of the patterned papers in the kit, popped them up on foam and centered them in the middle of the cardstock cut.  I also added a few of the cardstock stickers from the kit around the page.

Here's one last shot of this bright and bold page!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way!  Have you tried this technique using your stamps?  It's pretty simple and a lot of fun!  The Distress Oxides are perfect for this technique since they don't dry too quickly.  My tip is to stamp the image and immediately bring water and your paintbrush to it.  So fun!  We would love to see whatever you are creating so please post to our {Not} Just for Boys Kit Club Community Facebook Group and on Instagram with the following hashtags: #njfb #notjustforboyskitclub #virtualreality (or whatever kit you are working with)
