{The Rhythm of a Good Day} Using the Shoot for the Stars Limitless Kit
Hey scrappy friends! Lacey here back again with the full share from our LIVE scrap that took place over in the Facebook group last week. If you missed out, you could hop over and watch the replay in the group to see it all come together. I just couldn’t wait to dig into this month’s “Shoot for the Stars” Limitless Kit!
My daughter and I just came home from vacation, and my scrappy mojo was thick and running full speed ahead for this one! I decided to use a #scrapliftsunday challenge and make it messy with mixed media!
I broke out my brayer and used some Nuvo Mica mist mixed with some “Distress Oxide Ink” to create a fun custom shimmering color that I applied to the background of my page.
I then set it aside to dry and matted my photos and created a template to cut my patterned paper wedges from. I started with a half circle and just used my trimmer to cut it into several pieces measuring different sizes. No rhythm or reason.
I used those template pieces to cut my pattern paper pieces and added them in a half circular design at the top and bottom of my row of photos. To make them pop a little more I later went back and took a black pen and outlined them and drew some squiggles to add some interest.
For my title and subtitle, I used the chipboard phrases that were included in the main kit. I added some additional foam adhesive to pop them up and give them added dimension on the page.
I kept the embellishments to a minimum because the layout is bold and playful on its own using the wooden stars and keeping them neutral allows them to be seen but also not overwhelming at the same time.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you in some way!
