{Spring} Using the “Delight” Page Kit

Hello everyone! Jessica here, sharing another layout using the “Delight” Page kit/Essential kit and the “Spring” cardstock cut to document photos of my boys playing in one of our fields while we did some spring cleaning(tree cleanup)! I used a sketch below by Paper Issues for this one!

I started my layout by pulling out some of the patterned papers form the kit and a sheet of white cardstock.. I cut some diagonal strips with my X-acto knife and cutting mat in three of the patterned papers. I then matted my photos with a scrap of white cardstock first and then again with the scraps of the patterned papers from cutting my strips. I made sure I distressed the edges of my diagonal strips before adhering with my tape gun so I had some extra texture in my layout.

I added some splatters along the top and bottom of my strips with some Nuvo Mica Mist from one of the previous kits. I pulled out the “Spring” Cardstock Cut and decided to do an ombre inking effect to match the colors of my papers. I reached for three distress oxide colors(Mustard Seed, Uncharted Mariner, and Lumberjack Plaid) and three blending brushes. I then applied the red, yellow, and blue from the bottom up and blending them together between colors to make secondary colors which created that lovely rainbow! I grabbed some water and my round watercolor paintbrush and flicked it with water to create a “marbled” or distressed effect. I then did some doodling on the letters with my white gel pen. I adhered to my layout with some 3D foam tape to pop it up off my page.

I grabbed some embellishments from the essentials kit add on and added some embellishments and wooden red stars to this layout using the nuvo liquid glue from the shop. I also cut apart some packaging wordy bits from another kit and used those on this layout. I glued down some Elle’s Studio embellies from my stash and then lastly added some sequins that went with this kit in the add ons and added my Paige Evans date stamp at the bottom.

Feel free to share your projects with this kit on our {Not} Just for Boys Kit Club Community Facebook group or Instagram using the #notjustforboyskitclub #njfb #delight(or whatever kit you are using) tags!

Thank you for joining me today and I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful!
