{You Rock} Using the “Graffiti Art” Page Kit
Hello everyone! Jessica here, sharing a layout using
the “Graffiti Art” page kit to document photos of my
son when he first started potty training. He picked up this butterfly wand from
his Mimi(my mom) and was totally obsessed with it so naturally he had to take
it on the potty as well. I figured it was time to bust out some mixed media so
I’m glad that is the challenge this month and I was able to use the Shimmerz
paintz that came in this kit!
I started this layout with a sheet of Vicki Boutin patterned paper from the kit, the one with all the wordy bits on it! I added some white gesso with a cheap brush to prep my mixed media area, focusing on a vertical design. I then added some water to both of the shimmerz paintz from the kit and applied to my gesso’d area with a round watercolor brush and added some splatters in both colors as well. I continued to layer the colors and splatters until I was happy with it. I then pulled out the black acrylic paint from the kit and watered some down to add black splatters with my same paintbrush.
Next, I matted my photos with smooth
white cardstock and then with one of the other Vicki Boutin patterned papers in
the kit. I distressed those edges and also fussy cut some of the stars out of
the other side of that paper to use on my layout since this kit didn’t come
with an embellishment pack. I also die cut some triangles from the green/black
patterned paper to use to bring the focal point to my photos on this layout.
I have a process video on my YouTube channel if you'd like to watch
exactly how this came together!
Feel free to share your projects
with this kit on our {Not} Just for Boys Kit Club Community Facebook group or Instagram using the #notjustforboyskitclub

Thank you for joining me today and I
hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful!
