{Adventure Awaits} Using the “Outdoor Adventures” Page Kit

Hello everyone! Jessica here, sharing my take for for this month’s color challenge! I used the Outdoor Adventures page kit from the October release and I am so in love with this kit and all the bits and pieces you can purchase as add-ons! I used a sketch from 30 Days of Sketches with Christy’s Beautiful Life by Brooklyn Rough to complete this layout.

I decided to rotate this sketch to a horizontal layout so my title(paper cut from the kit) would go across my page horizontally. I started this layout by pulling out some of the patterned papers and one of the sheets of the solid white cardstock for my background. I began backing the cutfile after taping off the trees section and applying some distress ink in Rustic Wilderness with a blending brush to the trees. I backed all the letters with the patterned papers from the page kit and matted my photos with the other piece of white cardstock and leftover patterned pieces. I’ve also distressed the edges of my photos for added rustic appeal!

I went to work on my background using a Tim Holtz stamp from my stash with distress ink in Gathered Twigs. I stamped a bunch of times behind where my cutfile will sit to create a muddy feel as my photos are some soggy bike riding pics of my kids riding through the wet campground. It ended up raining that entire weekend so they had lots of muddy play and I wanted to capture that in this layout! I adhered my photos with my tape runner and stamped some trees and stars around the top ones using the Echo Park stamp set that came with the kit which is ahhhhh-mazing!

I added a few embellishments from the die cut pack in the kit but honestly, with all the stamping I didn’t need to add much to this layout. I finished off my title by adding some Bella Blvd alphas to make it say rain or shine and did some journaling below the date stamp. I then finished it off by adding some more muddy type stamping behind and around the bottom photo and some of the paw print tracks from the stamp set along the side.

I have a process video up on my YouTube Channel if you’d like to see exactly how this one came together!

Feel free to share your projects with this kit on our Facebook group or Instagram using the #notjustforboyskitclub #njfb #outdooradventures(or whatever kit you are using) tags!

Thank you for joining me today and I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful!
